Alias |
An alias is composed of one or two chunks of text (Prefix and Suffix) that can be inserted into a document at the cursor. If no text is selected, the cursor will be placed between the Prefix and Suffix text. If text is selected, the Prefix and Suffix will wrap the selected text and the cursor will be placed just before the Suffix text. |

Current SDD |
The application allows for multiple compiled SDDs to be in memory at the same time. The current SDD is the one whose name appears in the dropdown box in the secondary toolbar. Users can change the current SDD by selecting a different SDD from the SDDs listed in the combobox. Any time an SDD is successfully compiled, it becomes the current SDD. |

Data Content Error |
A data content error occurs when the validator finds problems with the data in a document. These errors result from validating the content against data types or regular expressions. |
Default SDD |
Users can specify a single SDD file as the default SDD. This allows for quickly loading a frequently used SDD. |

Error Tab |
A read only tab that displays error messages generated during sdd compilation or document validation. |

Line Wrapping |
When line wrapping is turned off, line numbers will appear in the left gutter and text will extend off the screen to the right if there is not enough window space to display it. If line wrapping is turned on, line numbers will not be displayed and text will wrap to the next line if it extends beyond the size of the window. |
Look and Feel |
Relates to the appearance of the interface. The application currently supports three types: CDE/Motif, Metal, and Windows. |

SDD Developer Tab |
Provides a graphical interface for editting sdds. |
SDD Tab |
A text based tab for editing sdds as text files. Using this type of tab allows users to compile the sdd. |
SDDType |
Contains information specific to a document type. These are stored as jar files in one of the following directories: <app-path>/SDValidator/typelib or <home-dir>/SDValidator/typelib |
Structural Error |
A structural error occurs when the validator finds problems with the relationships between the tags in a document. |

Tab with focus |
This is the tab which menu items and keyboard actions will affect. The title for the tab with focus is displayed in the application's title bar. |
Text Tab |
A text based tab for editing text files. |
